Profile:- 5 years of experience in delivering enterprise-class software in Java- Experience with large-scale, data-driven web microservices- Working with product management to clarify requirements- Experience with Java, object-oriented programming, REST, relational databases, schema design and SQL- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms and asynchronous architectures- Understanding of SDLC best practices: coding standards, reviews, code management, compilation and testing processes.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with AWS or other public cloud technologies- Experience with ReactJS, JavaScript and at least one modern JS UI framework (20% front-end work)- Experience with distributed source control systems such as Git- Familiarity with Maven- Familiarity with the DevOps work model

Project descriptionThe Apptio Mallard team is looking for a software engineer to help us build an innovative Cloudability MSP product. The right candidate is a solid Java developer with good SQL knowledge, preferably familiar with frontend development. We are developing a scalable, high-performance, cloud-native FinOps solution running on AWS using a microservices architecture (backend and frontend). The team is responsible for the entire product lifecycle, from requirements specification, design and implementation to production deployment and support. The team members will build important features in the SaaS environment to help customers manage and optimise cloud spending.

Job DescriptionIn this role, the candidate will own significant portions of the team39s code base and participate in setting the strategic direction of the project. Primary responsibilities will include designing and implementing new features, optimising and maintaining existing code, and ensuring that the software meets high quality standards through testing and debugging. He or she will also work closely with other developers, designers and product managers to ensure that the software meets user needs and modern non-functional requirements. From time to time, he or she will also be asked to be on-call according to the team39s schedule.- With the current on-call schedule, on-calls occur once every 8 weeks - an employee on his/her shift is on duty all week: Mon-Sat 2-8pm, Mon-Fri 6-9pm, Sat 2-8pm.
