Female salaried employees working full-time in production industries, trade
or the credit and insurance sectors in Germany earned an average EUR2,602
per month, about 30 percent less than the amount earned by their male
colleagues, the federal statistics office said on Wednesday. The differences
in salaries were less pronounced in eastern Germany. Women working in these
sectors in eastern Germany earn around EUR2,176, or 22 percent less than
their male counterparts.
