    Opis stanowiska:

    ----------------------
    This is a position within the Solution Engineering Team which is
    responsible for the implementation and support of our high-value
    customer solutions. The key objective is to continually improve the
    service-levels of these important customers both in terms of delivery
    quality and timeliness as well as ongoing support.

    Within the Team there are two broad categories of task - one being
    implementation and the other support. The medium-term objective is to
    ensure a level of cross-training between these two main job
    functions. At this time, the Docklands -based Team's main focus is on
    the support of customer solutions.

    As part of the role, you would be required to coordinate hosting and
    complex connectivity related solutions that are implemented to agreed
    timescales and to the specifications required, in a customer- focused
    fashion. Equally the team will be responsible for the modification and
    diagnosis of operational problems against these same solutions.

    This role may operate as part of a 24-hour shift pattern; other roles
    at this level will be office-hours based positions. The specific hours
    will be advertised with each vacancy.

    Docklands-based Solution Engineers will be asked to work in Holborn to
    ensure cross-training and sharing of best practice.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The role will be focused primarily upon supporting solutions for
    customers based upon MPLS, international connectivity, managed hosting
    and collocation services as well as assisting in the delivery and
    operation of managed application hosting solutions and operation of
    the Claranet data centres. Additionally, the Docklands-based Team
    will assist in the implementation of customer solutions as required.

    Responsibilities include:

    * Accepting escalations primarily from Solution Support,
    troubleshooting and fault escalation, perform routine maintenance,
    network and server testing to maintain its integrity.
    * Providing Solution Support with timely updates on progress of
    incidents related to customer solutions.
    * Working as part of a team, you should have the maturity to work
    under pressure, and have excellent proven problem solving skills. You
    will be expected to communicate with corporate clients via telephone,
    email and face-to-face and should therefore possess good verbal and
    written communication skills.
    * Make regular physical checks of the data centers and facilities.
    * Help customers both internal and external with the installation
    of equipment and hands on troubleshooting.
    * Installation and deployment of equipment both at the Datacenter
    and in liaison with customers for remote sites.
    * Liaison with other departments to ensure that the delivered
    solutions fulfill the customer's requirements.
    * Documentation of configuration of services and hardware/software
    solutions according to the service descriptions including entry of key
    data into operational support systems to reflect current status and
    progress of all solutions.
    * Devise sufficient testing processes for customer installations
    to ensure services delivered match or exceed customer expectations.
    * Provide adequate handover support to operations, providing
    training where required.

    POSITIONS SPECIFICATIONS
    Essential Skills:

    * Thorough understanding of and experience with the following:
    * Configuring and troubleshooting Cisco routers for ADSL, SDSL,
    ISDN, Frame Relay, Leased Lines. OSPF,BGP, HSRP, GLBP, VRF Lite, MPLS.
    * Configuring and troubleshooting Cisco L2 and L3 switches.
    * Configuring and troubleshooting Juniper (Netscreen) Firewalls
    * Installation and troubleshooting of Windows 2003 Sever, MSSQL
    Server and Redhat Linux
    * Network and hardware load balancing, Foundry and Citrix
    Netscaler.
    * Ability to document complex solutions (Visio)
    * At least 1 year prior experience working for an Internet service
    provider, managed services provider or large corporation in a similar
    role.
    * A 'can do' positive attitude
    * Enthusiastic and highly motivated

    * Experience in deployment of MS Cluster technologies and Redhat
    Cluster Technologies
    * Deployment of popular mail systems (Microsoft Exchange/Qmail/
    Postfix and Sendmail)
