JAVA DEVELOPERS, ON-SITE IN DORTMUND, GERMANY

The company offers its customers a unique level of quality in 2-way
SMS interaction services. This promise is based on the company's
pioneering service level agreements (SLAs) and end-to-end security of
message transmission. They enables its customers to reach more than
90% of global mobile subscribers and offers a 15-second SMS delivery
guarantee, real-time delivery notifications of all messages and a no-
message loss policy.

Founded in 2002, they have 140 employees in offices in the UK, Germany
and Singapore.

Main Responsibilities:
--------------------------
One of the strengths of our client's high quality service is their
individual platform, developed in-house. This object-oriented platform
is based on technologies such as CORBA and SOAP and was developed as a
decentralised System in Java and C++.

Your main responsibility is the development of web-based applications
as well as maintenance and further development of existing systems and
the development of Enterprise Service Applications in the direct
environment.

These distributed applications have been developed mostly in Java and
JSF using Hibernate. These applications are almost exclusively based
on SQL databases so an understanding and experienced handling of such
databases is also part of your responsibilities

Your responsbilites cover the whole spectrum of the development
process:
- Project planning and execution
- Requirements analysis with the specialised departments
- Choosing, designing and documenting of a suitable architecture.
- Design, implementation and testing of new functions
- Preparation and execution of installations
- Transferring these functions to the support department with
subsequent support
- Decentralised work with a number of different people/teams

- A third level degree in the area of information technology or a
related area
- At least 3-4 years work experience in the area of Enterprise
Application development or in a similar area either during or after
university
- Practical project experience (Planning, supervision, execution)
- Experience in designing Enterprise Applications and Integration in
an existing system landscape
- Practical experience in compiling requirements lists with various
specialized departments
- Good working knowledge/practical experience in Java/JavaEE as well
as JSF and Facelets
- Good working knowledge/practical experience in relational Databases
and Unit Tests
- Knowledge of the following areas is advantageous: UML, Glassfish,
PostgreSQL, Hibernate, Linux, Eclipse, NetBeans, Git
- The ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and to share knowledge within the team
- Good knowledge of both English and German, written and spoken
- Analytical mind and problem resolution skills
