Engineer - Messenging Infrastructure

Location: Poznan

Job summary:


With minimal supervision, the IT Engineer provides ongoing maintenance
and support of messenging (eMail/Blackberry/IM) related technologies
and services. Responsible for performing installation, maintenance,
application/system monitoring and capacity & performance management;
they will partner with Systems Engineering personnel to effectively
sustain the operational processes and procedures associated with the
ongoing management and administration of the technology or service.



Responsibilities:

o Manages messenging (eMail/Blackberry/IM) infrastructure in
accordance with established operational practices.
o Follows standard configuration guidelines when performing system
moves, additions, and changes.
o Updates documentation and monitors messenging system and application
performance.
o Engages Systems Engineering team as needed to assist with
performance and capacity management planning activities.
o Manages small to medium scale messenging (eMail/Blackberry/IM)
projects, messenging application upgrades and installations, server
and application capacity/performance upgrades in accordance with
established processes.
o Assists in the deployment of messenging (eMail/Blackberry/IM)
solutions; including operational testing, support process development,
general release planning & deployment and planning & conducting end
user training & acceptance.
o Leads or participates in management of Tier 1/2 problem resolution
and escalation activities.
o Performs root cause analysis.
o Lead or participate in vendor management activities associated with
the ongoing maintenance and support of the company's messenging (eMail/
Blackberry/IM) infrastructure and related services.

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
o A technology-related Bachelor's degree or a Bachelor's degree plus
industry-related experience.
o Five years of practical work experience in the design, deployment
and support of Messenging (Exchange/Blackberry/Instant Messenging)
solutions for medium to large sized distributed enterprises.
o Administrative and/or helpdesk experience in MS Exchange, ideally
Exchange 2007

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
o Applicable Exchange and Blackberry and Instant Messenging
certifications desirable.

unique or unusual conditions. Requires the ability to do so within the
context of existing organizational theories and management
principles.
o Requires the ability to operate the technologies that they are
responsible for managing.
o Requires the ability to utilize available reference data and
information to design messenging technology solutions for the
Business.

PROBLEM SOLVING AND DECISION MAKING:
o Requires the ability to analyze and work on major problems that
require an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors that can span one
or several work units and/or technology platforms.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
o Able to sit for long periods of time.
o Able to key for long periods of time.
o Ability to hear and speak on the phone and in person.
o Ability to read a personal computer screen, memos, reports and other
documents.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
o None

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
o Travel may be required to domestic and/or international company's
locations.
